A recent actuarial report found that Imagine360 reduces employers’ healthcare costs by approximately 20% compared to commercial health plans, excluding pharmacy costs. Industry Data Reveals Movement to Transparency

According to the Business Group on Health, employer spending on pharmaceuticals surged in 2023, accounting for over a quarter of total healthcare costs, up from 21% in 2021. Three out of four employers expressed deep concern about rising pharmacy expenses, while only 1% believed the current market is competitive enough to ensure affordability. Despite employers covering a growing share of prescription drug costs, nearly half of American adults remain concerned about affording medications for their families, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. In response, 28% of employers polled by the Business Group on Health have already adopted transparent pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and another 40% are considering doing so within the next two years to better manage and reduce pharmacy-related spending.

Transparency Enhances Compliance and Savings

Select PBMs have attracted federal and state scrutiny regarding their pricing structures and transparency related to plan costs. This has resulted in lawsuits against plan sponsors alleging mismanagement of health benefit plan funds and violation of a federal law intended to protect the plan’s members.
